As I write the weather has started to get cooler and the days shorter. It is a sign of the winter that is creeping up on us. It is always hard for me this time of year because I love the warmth, sunshine and long days of summer. I can't help but be thankful, however, for all the blessings I have for today.
Did you make it to any quilt shows recently? I and some of our members took a bus trip to Grand Rapids, MI for the AQS show there. It is always a fun time with the group! We were all inspired by the amazing quilts and love to shop the vendor mall! We were all a bit conservative on our purchases this year. No one had to use the large storage compartments under the bus for any big purchases this year. I don't know about you but I love to see all the challenge quilts. Maybe a few of them we will take on as a group this year. That is always so much fun. It is a great way to stretch yourself as a quilter!
Were you able to see the eclipse? We got our glasses early so had a great time watching it. It is truly amazing. We didn't travel to a total eclipse area, how about you? Maybe next time. They say there will be another eclipse in 7 years and Indianapolis is in the path of the total eclipse. I might have to travel for that one!
We still have a little time to finish up those last summer projects and get them ready to show. For those that are members of our guild make sure to get the info to Mary Jane Thomas ASAP. The show is quickly approaching!
